In the most part, couples will have well over a year to plan for their wedding, even longer. That said, there are times when you are going to be much shorter on time. This is particularly true given the current Covid-19 climate when many weddings are not happening when they were planned, or have been delayed for some time, only to need to be rushed through.
Some couples are even finding that they have to plan their dream wedding in as little time as 3 months. It might seem like an impossible task, but we can promise you that it is possible. In fact, let us help you with our guide on how to put together your wedding in less than 3 months.
Speak to a venue
The first thing to do is to make sure that you have a wedding venue booked, after all, no wedding venue, then no wedding. Not only this, but many venues are going to get booked up early, especially at short notice, so, speaking to one first means that you are likely to be able to get the place that you want.
Be flexible with your dates
When you are planning a wedding in a short period of time, you are going to need to be as flexible as possible with your dates. Let your wedding day be led by the venues availability, as well as the availability of any of your key suppliers.
Let your guests know
Once you know your venue and you have a date, then you can start to think about who can come. It is a good idea to let your guests know as early as possible, which is easier said than done of course when you are planning at short notice. Whilst those who are most important to you are likely to make maximum effort to try and make an appearance, this isn’t always the case and you need to understand that sometimes people are not going to be able to make it.
Book your suppliers
Another thing to keep in mind is that you are going to need to make sure that you book as many suppliers as possible. Much like the venue, these can get booked up early, especially if they are known as being amongst the best. However, this doesn’t mean that it is impossible to book them. Plenty of florist, wedding photographers, bands and caterers have last minute availability if you need them, so it is always worth asking.
Be ready to compromise
Planning a wedding in 3 months can be hard work, but there are ways to get it done and to make it easier and in the long term you will have the most special wedding day in the world planned. Just because you have booked it in a short period of time, that doesn’t mean that it is going to be any less special.
Not only this, but there is also a chance that you might not be able to secure all of the suppliers that you hope for. Or that you won’t be able to get your first choice. Being able to accept this and know that it might happen, will ensure that you have the best possible day, no matter what happens along the way.
