Planning a wedding Guide

Decide between church and civil ceremony

Chances are that this one will be a relatively easy decision to make. Most couples will already know whether or not they want to get married in a church or a civil ceremony. However, if you haven’t already pinned down what you want, then now is the time to get to work.

How big are you going?

Another early thing to decide on (mainly because it will have a huge impact on the rest of the planning) is how big you want your wedding to be. Many weddings in Ireland are a huge family occasion, which means that they take the bigger is better approach when it comes to guests. However, some couples want to keep things as small and intimate as possible, only sharing their day with a select few guests.

Work out your budget

Wedding size will impact much of your future planning, but another aspect that will make a difference is your budget. Of course, much of the time you are going to end up going past your budget, but if you can try and have a figure in mind then at least this will help with some of the aspects of your wedding planning. Look here for some tips.

Planning a wedding Venues

Think about venues

Whilst you don’t have to pin yourself to venues and dates straight away, it is a good idea to try and have in mind the kind of venues that you like early on. Not only will this give you a good starting point, but venues, especially those who are popular, can soon get booked up. You don’t have to pin yourself down, but there is no harm getting in early and visiting as many places as possible. Not only does this mean that you are much more likely to find the ideal venue, but you also can get an idea of the type of places that you like.

The most important thing to remember when you are planning a wedding is that you should enjoy your wedding prep as much as possible. It may seem hard at the time, but, if you try and focus on the fact that it is the most exciting time, bringing together you and your partner for life. Then any of the stress that can happen will feel like a distant memory.
