Work out your wedding budget with our help!
When it comes to planning your wedding, one important thing that you should decide on is your budget. Knowing your budget can help you with many of the decisions that you need to make, such as your venue, how many guests you have and some of your key suppliers such as wedding photographers or caterers.
The only problem is that it can be hard to know how to work out a wedding budget. Chances are that you have never had to work out a wedding budget before, so let us help you to work out how much you have to spend.
Think about how much you can afford
One of the simplest things that you need to think about when it comes to working out your wedding budget is how much you can afford. Of course, you are going to want to make sure that your wedding is everything that you want it to be, but, you should never leave yourself unable to live during and after your wedding.
Look at your current financial situation, look at your current commitments and then work out how much you can realistically spend out and save.
Talk to friends about how much their wedding cost
Seeing as you haven’t ever got married before, you are not going to know how much weddings cost. You can look online, you can price things up, but the truth is, you still won’t know. The best way to find out more about weddings is to ask people who have already got married. They will know how much things cost when they got married and they will also be able to advise you on which things are important to pay out for and those things that might not be.
Be realistic
Thinking about money and knowing that it has a big impact on your wedding celebration, isn’t always a nice feeling. But, it is important that you do this. You should always be realistic about how much money you have, as well as how much money you want to then spend out on your wedding day. Being realistic means that you can still have the perfect wedding, but you won’t be left paying for it for years to come.
Ask if your parents want to help
Another key thing to think about is whether or not your parents are going to be able to contribute to your wedding funds. Some parents can and will, some parents can’t. Either way is fine. It can be awkward to have that conversation with them, but it is important that you know from the start. Your parents, if they can contribute, may be happy to give you money for you to spend as you wish, whereas others may want to pay for certain items.
Putting together your wedding budget may not be the best part of your wedding prep, but it is a key part. Take your time, think about what is most important to you and take into account your financial situation, all of which can help you to plan the best wedding possible.
